About Our Chapter/News

Welcome to the Carolinas Chapter AWI

Established in 1969, the Carolinas’ chapter consists of manufacturing members and associate members in the commercial and institutional casework/millwork industry from North and South Carolina.

The Carolinas Chapter supports the objectives and purposes of AWI as set forth in Article II of their Articles of Incorporation (as approved April 7, 2006); provides members a forum in which they can network and share ideas; and promotes education of AWI Standards and ideals to design professionals, owners, builders, educators, and students of woodworking through information sharing, workshops and mentoring.

Available To: All AWI Manufacturing Members in good standing.

Primary Return: Compare your company’s financial results against the industry’s best “high profit firms” in order to identify your company’s operating costs so that you can make corrections for improving your company’s bottom line.

Other Returns:

  • Banking — re-negotiate terms/revolvers based on industry data.
  • Recruiting — research base, bonus and total compensation by various criteria.
  • Accounting — use as best practice chart of accounts.

Cost: To participate in the survey, there’s no direct monetary cost outside of your time. You will receive a final survey report (a $950 value), including a fully secure, online database of your company’s financials, powerful trend-analysis tool.

How to Participate: Respond to an e-mail from AWI on February 15.

Data Security: All survey data is held in strict confidence by Inverra, the independent business intelligence firm that has been conducting the CODBS for AWI since 1999.  The Web-based tool maximizes security.

Why Participate in the Cost of Doing Business Survey?

AWI Members Tell You.

“Previously I have spent untold hours and thousands of dollars collecting the financial numbers for companies similar to us. In my mind the CODB$ is worth the membership just by itself.”

“Our industry has unique variables that a generic industry analysis just doesn’t cover at a level that is valuable to our management team. The CODBS is well worth the
time it takes to participate and is a great tool for owners and managers at all levels.”
